Unsure.

As a registered nurse in the year 2020, I can say with certainty that this HAS NOT been the year of the nurse. I left the bedside in September of 2019 and even though I am not directly dealing with patients, there have still been challenges to my job. Being an ICU nurse, I sympathize with my fellow nurses who are on the front lines tackling this virus head-on. I empathize with the nurses at my hospital who are taking care of these patients every. single. day. Some nurses only getting one day off here and there because of staffing and the surge that's on the rise. I won't take too much more time focusing on this, because we already know what a heartache and pain this virus has been. How many lives its affected, how many its taken and how there probably isn't a solution in the foreseeable future. This is something that will be around, it's not something that's going away. Stay safe, stay smart and always wear your mask.
